Repairs complete, City continues work to restore water supply to Hout Bay, Llandudno, Suikerbossie and Mount Rhodes

Residents are notified that the City’s Water and Sanitation Department completed the emergency repairs on its water supply main feeding large parts of Hout Bay.
The City’s Water and Sanitation team worked around the clock to effect the repairs and have earlier this morning opened the repaired water supply main to Hout Bay to slowly fill up the reservoirs in the area. Consumers are advised that this is a slow process as a cautionary approach is taken to prevent further pipe bursts on the water supply network as well as monitoring the reservoir levels supplying these areas.
The water supply has been restored to the affected part of Hout Bay which has been without water for the past few days. Mount Rhodes, Suikerbossie and Llandudno however will be supplied with water via water tankers while the supply to the Suikerbossie reservoir is being attended to.
Consumers in Mount Rhodes, Suikerbossie and Llandudno are kindly requested to keep their taps closed to prevent any water loss and/or damage when the water supply is restored.
The City sincerely regrets any inconvenience caused and appreciates the patience of the consumers while it endeavours to restore the water supply to the entire Hout Bay and Llandudno.
